The use of a mineral supplement in achieving balanced nutrition is today a basic principle in the feeding of all livestock — whether range, in the pasture or during feedlot confinement.  From shortly after birth, livestock require additional minerals in their diet for faster gains and better tissues, bones and teeth. Their judicious use, in proper balance with other nutrients, assures the fullest utilization of the entire ration through all stages of development. Minerals are also beneficial to the reproductive function.

It is no longer possible to rely on the soil for adequate mineral supply in either roughage or grains. Intensive crop production and soil erosion have depleted the mineral reserves in the soil to an extent even fertilization cannot replenish. Only the use of a suitable mineral supplement can eliminate the possibility of serious ration imbalance.

Mineral needs vary not only with the type and quality of the available feed stuff’s, but also with the species of livestock, their stage of growth and production requirements. For this reason, Super-Min Supplements are provided in basic choice of formulas designed to meet any requirement. Available in both block form and in bags, they guarantee an adequate supply of minerals for all type of livestock.

  DAILY REQUIREMENTS:
Major Minerals

The chart below gives the average daily requirements of calcium, phosphorus and salt for different types of livestock. Expressed in grams, these amounts are the total required from all feed intake, including mineral supplements.  NOTE:  28 1/2 grams equals 1 ounce and 454 grams equal 1 pound.
